LAUGHTER & TEARS IN THE CAREGIVING YEARS

JACQUELINE MARCELL was so compelled being the sole caregiver to her challenging elderly father and sweet but ailing mother (both with early Alzheimer's not properly diagnosed for over a year), that once she figured everything out--she gave up her stalled career as a television executive to become an advocate for eldercare awareness and reform. Determination to save others from a similar experience resulted in her first (bestselling) book "Elder Rage"; the "Coping With Caregiving" radio show; media including: TODAY, CNN, PBS Documentary, Woman's Day, Prevention, AARP Bulletin cover story; a syndicated column and three Blogs; and over 150 keynotes--including to the California Governor’s Conference, numerous chapters of the Alzheimer’s Association and Area Agencies on Aging, the National Security Agency and Florida House of Representatives.

Mixing practical advice with humor, Jacqueline presents: the warning signs, stages and treatments for Alzheimer's; behavioral techniques for managing challenging elders; the value of Adult Day Care; care for the caregiver; and preparing for our own later years. Jacqueline delivers real hope that there can still be a good life after a diagnosis of dementia, if it is properly managed medically and behaviorally. www.ElderRage.com

 Mr. Peter Wouters

Baby Boomers, Stretch to Retirement and Beyond

Boomer retirement is not and will not be the same as our parents' retirement. New retirees and those retiring tomorrow will be in retirement for almost three times longer than previous generations.

The factors of life expectancy, health span, tax rates, investment returns, time, living expenses and demographics are all in motion and interact to present both challenges and opportunities for everyone dealing with an aging marketplace.

What do we all need to know, understand and do to better position ourselves and clients for that stretch to a new and evolving meaning of retirement?
