Ms. Sandra Tonn, RHN, EPC
Registered Holistic Consultant, Natural Health Journalist/Writer
Faculty Member - CIEPS

Vancouver, BC

Formerly a newspaper journalist, a decade ago Sandra decided to dedicate her skills and career exclusively to natural health. She has been writing about health ever since and today is also a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, a certification bestowed upon her by The International Organization of Nutritional Consultants.

Specializing in natural health research, writing and editing, Sandra has edited more than 30 Canadian natural health books and thousands read her own writing each month in national health magazines such as alive, Canada’s Healthy Living Guide and Health’N Vitality. Sandra also works with many different individuals, groups and companies as a nutritional consultant, natural health education advisor and instructor, speaker, and workshop presenter.

Health is not only a career choice for Sandra, but a personal passion as well. She walks the talk in the way she lives—with an organic, vegetarian diet, simple lifestyle, lots of physical activity, connection with nature and spiritual study. Her spare time is spent ocean kayaking, back-country skiing and hiking, playing baseball, practicing yoga and playing her violin.

A member of the Health Action Network Society, EarthSave, Vancouver Food Policy Taskforce and the Western Wilderness Foundation, Sandra is active in the national communities of health and environment.

Sandra loves talking about health, is enthusiastic about the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies. As an Elder Planning Counselor, Sandra helps elders in the areas of disease prevention and treatment through diet and lifestyle, as well as with common aging issues and challenges.
