Louise has specialized in retirement planning
and wealth accumulation strategies for more than 30 years. She has
written numerous articles on tax efficient investing and tax
efficient income. Her passion is the retired and soon to be
retired market so many of her tax articles and guides deal with
topics close to a retiree’s heart, such as, ‘fighting claw backs’
‘maximizing RRIF income’ ‘transferring tax credits’ and ‘giving to
charity’.
She began her career in the Federal
Government as an administrator for the Federal Employees Pension
Plan and then moved to the insurance industry where she has held
various positions in pensions and tax. Her current role is helping
advisors within the financial services industry understand and
take advantage of the tax opportunities available to their
individual and corporate clients.
Louise is a frequent speaker at industry
conferences and seminars and has appeared as a guest expert for
Globefund media, MOJO radio and ROB TV. She was instrumental in
the design of wrapped segregated funds, also known as Guaranteed
Investment Funds, which were introduced to the investment
community in 1996. She is also well versed in mutual funds,
annuities, GICs, and government income plans such as CPP and OAS.
She has a Bachelor degree in Math from Carleton University in
Ottawa, is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, a charter
member of the Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning Studies, with
an Elder Planning Counselor designation (EPC) a Fellow of the Life
Management Institute (FLMI), an Associate in Customer Service
(ACS), a Certified Administrative Manager (CAM), and a Certified
Financial Planner (CFP).
