Taylor D. Train, BA., CIA., EPC Taylor has over 25 years of international experience in businesses and marketing development. He has worked with individuals and a wide range of organizations including financial services, education, media, manufacturing and sales. His focus is on developing and mentoring individuals and organizations to improve performance and their success. Taylor began his career with Manulife Financial and developed sales and marketing organizations in the Maritimes, Ontario, Manitoba and British Columbia. He then was asked to work for Manulife’s U. K. division where he was Director of Agencies for branches in England Scotland and Wales. He also led the development program for the university management recruiting system and training program. Taylor then joined a new team which dramatically increased field productivity in Manulife’s US operations. He was invited to join Aetna to help establish a new owner operated distribution system, Equinox Financial Group. The system grew into a national sales and marketing arm using a combination of the strategic product alliances and near franchise sales operations. At the same time he created a program Market Refit that was designed to improve the productivity, retention and career satisfaction of the sales force. His program was also used as the core process for developing the entrepreneurial skills in the owner operators of the Equinox Centers. His book Market Refit along with the program has assisted hundreds of sales marketing and management professionals. Taylor then joined Imperial Life. His responsibilities included managing broad-spectrum teams developing marketing and product for health, individual, savings, money, and direct market products. He also led the virtual team that created the Financial Ways concept, which was designed to place financial services including life, travel, health and investment in major retail outlets. He subsequently led the development of several innovative health protection (SOLO) products focusing on individual group benefits. In 2005 Taylor lead the team that established Selfquest. Selfquest is a guidance and counseling organization focused on helping young adults make informed and intentional career and academic choices. Currently he is developing a new certificate program at Seneca College for Financial Services Practitioners. He is on the faculty of the Centre for Financial services where he teaches interpersonal communications and marketing. Taylor is the COO of the CLU Institute for Canada and the Vice President of Marketing for Advocis (The Financial Advisors Association of Canada). He is part of the faculty of the American and Canadian Initiative for Elder Planning studies were he specializes in the areas of cultural aspects of aging, social gerontology, marketing and communication.. He has delivered speeches and presentations to a wide range of audiences at international conferences, educational programs, seminars and industry and public forms. He has been interviewed and appeared on radio and television and in print in the U.S.A., Canada and the UK. His compelling, relevant observations, interpretations and insights and wit create an environment where people sit-up, listen, learn and enjoy.
