Akeela is a financial planner who believes in helping her clients plan the life they want.   Her designations indicate that she is committed to getting educated herself on issues that she considers import to her clients.  Her CFP and RFP denote a commitment to the highest standards of financial planning.  The PRP (Professional Retirement Planner) indicates that she takes a holistic view of her clients when planning.  She strives to integrate financial, physical and emotional well being in planning for her client’s retirement.  The FDS (Financial Divorce Specialist) designation has taken her into a field where there is great need but few trained professionals.  Her expertise helps clients who are going through a divorce, by showing them the potential impact of settlements, to their future.  Her EPC (Elder Planning Counselor) designation also is in an area where the need is growing daily for planners who are trained and in-tune with an aging population. 

Akeela is also a speaker, a teacher, a columnist and an author.  Self-Counsel press publishes her book, “Your Divorce, Your Dollars, a guide for before, during and after divorce”.  In addition to information and advice about the divorce process, it is the first book that talks about the importance of all types of insurance for those going through a divorce. 

Akeela has been recognized by her peers by being a finalist in the “2000 Advisor of the Year” awards, and by her clients by being awarded the coveted “Dalbar Professional Seal 2000” for superb client service. 

Akeela Davis is has also been very active in her community and profession where she has served on boards as director, treasurer and chair for various organizations.  She is very pleased to be serving on the CIEPS board, and hopes her previous experience will be useful to all the members of the organization.
