Lynn Biscott is an independent financial educator and writer based in Toronto. After several years’ experience as a fee-only financial planner, Lynn opened her own practice, Fernwood Consulting Group Inc., in July 1999. 

Lynn specializes in the design and development of financial education programs. She has delivered numerous retirement planning programs for a variety of public and private sector clients across Ontario. 

Lynn also develops educational materials for financial advisors. She has worked with CCH Canadian, the Canadian Securities Institute, Foran Financial Institute, Centennial College, and Advocis to design and deliver professional education programs. 

In addition to her financial planning credentials (Certified Financial Planner, Registered Financial Planner), Lynn holds a M.Ed. in Adult Education from the University of Toronto. In January 2004, she achieved the EPC designation. In 2002, her firm, Fernwood Consulting Group Inc., was designated a Senior-Friendly Business by the Toronto Seniors Council. 

Lynn sits on the Editorial Board of the Canadian Journal of Financial Planning, and is a member of the Panel of Examiners of the Financial Planners Standards Council. She is also active with the Membership Committee of the Institute of Advanced Financial Planners (IAFP). 

When not writing about financial matters, Lynn enjoys writing about travel. Several of her recent pieces have been published in the Globe and Mail.
